Red Cloud's War
Red Cloud's War: Brave Eagle's Account of the Fetterman Fight
By Paul Goble (Author), Robert Lewis (Foreword)
A year after the civil war ended in 1866, a new war was beginning to rise up north in Montana. The U.S government was insisted to build forts along side of the Bozeman Trail, because it is the shortest path for the prospectors to reach the Gold Rush in Montana. . But the Bozeman Trail runs through the Oglala Sioux terrritory.
Paul Goble added a fictional character named "Brave Eagle" into the story that was told to him by Robert Lewis. We are able to see the battle occur through the eyes of "Brace Eagle".
