A sweet, antique German porcelain doll measuring approximately 14" long. She is "Infant Baby" by Armand Marseille. The head is bisque porcelain with sleep eyes. the back of the head is marked with an incised, "AM" "Germany" "mold #" The hands are molded, they are crackled.She is dressed in a pinned diaper, and orginal christening gown with lovely lace and ribbions, ivory in color. She also has hand knitted pink booties. Her body is cloth. The doll is in wonderful condition and awaiting someone to adopt her into their collection.

Armand Marseille of Sonneberg & Koppelsdorf, Thuringia, Germany was one of the worlds largest and best known bisque doll head manufacturers.

From 1900-1930 it's reported they produced 1,000 bisque doll heads a day. They made bisque headed child, baby, lady & character dolls with kid bodies and most with glass eyes but some were painted eyes, as well as bisque and composition dolls and bisque heads with cloth bodies.
