Beaded Doll Cradleboard with Indian Doll
Native American doll cradleboard made in Crow Agency, Montana by local artist Elizabeth Rock Above. The cradleboard is 28" long, 8" at its widest. Bottom fringes are 11" long, top fringes are 9" long. She used size 13 cut beads. Her colors are Crow pink, greasy yellow, royal blue, baby blue, red, pine green, white, lime green, orange, and purple. The beadwork is trimmed in wool. The wooden board is encased in brain-tanned buckskin. The doll is 13" long, wearing a green wool elk tooth dress with a beaded collar and has 30 elk teeth carved out of bone. She is also wearing an elk tooth necklace with red and white beads. She has a beaded belt, beaded leggings, and beaded moccasins. She has long black, braided, synthetic hair. Her eyes, nose, and mouth are detailed with beads.
